Pro-Ject's simplest deck: a plug-and-play manual belt-drive with a pre-adjusted Ortofon cartridge and fixed tracking force — European hi-fi engineering at pocket-money price.
Model history: The Primary E updates Pro-Ject's original Primary turntable, moving the power supply into the deck itself (rather than housing it in the mains plug) and simplifying colour options to black only, at a slightly lower price.

Who it suits
Best suited to: a first turntable for casual, low-effort listening. Less ideal for: an existing hi-fi system where you want to hear more detail — the fixed cartridge and light tonearm are the limiting factors there.
