Rare US-market budget deck offering 78 RPM plus a built-in preamp from a real hi-fi brand.
Model history: The MMF-1.5 replaces the entry-level MMF-1.3 with a cherry-veneered plinth, a redesigned S-shaped tonearm with removable headshell, a heavier rubber platter mat, and a pre-mounted Music Hall Melody cartridge in place of the 1.3's stock cartridge.
Who it suits
Best suited to: a first turntable for casual, low-effort listening. Less ideal for: an existing hi-fi system where you want to hear more detail — the fixed cartridge and light tonearm are the limiting factors there.
