Model history: The Stir It Up Lux upgrades House of Marley's original Stir It Up, swapping the aluminium platter for glass, fitting a redesigned tonearm and headshell that needs less tracking force, and stepping up from a conical AT3600L stylus to an elliptical Audio-Technica AT95E cartridge.

Best suited to: a first serious turntable for an existing or planned amp-and-speakers setup. Less ideal for: plugging straight into passive speakers with no amp — check the built-in phono stage row above, and note most hi-fi decks still need external amplification.
